In our next spotlight, we are thrilled to introduce Kaitlynn Taucher. Originally from Williams, Oregon, she spent her formative years surrounded by the natural beauty of Southern Oregon. She moved to the Portland metro area to pursue a bachelor's degree in biology. During her freshman and sophomore summers, she went to experience wildland firefighting with her dad. After graduation, she delved into environmental science, gaining valuable experience at an environmental lab.Currently residing in Beaverton with her husband and their charming pets – two cockatiels and a playful cat – Kaitlynn has a deep connection to animal rescue, particularly through Oregon bird-only rescue, Exotic Bird Rescue of Oregon. Her first cockatiel was a gift from her grandmother, sparking her lifelong fascination with these members of the cockatoo family, known for their intelligence and longevity.
Professionally, Kaitlynn has spent the last six years excelling as a QC Analyst for First Choice, where she seamlessly transitioned to the role of Corrections Specialist following First Choice's integration into Nationwide. Her dedication and expertise have made her an invaluable member of the corrections department.Beyond her professional pursuits, Kaitlynn finds joy in creative pursuits and having fun outside. Crafting is a beloved hobby that allows her to unwind and express her creativity outside of work. Whether it's sewing or exploring new crafting techniques with friends, Kaitlynn cherishes the opportunity to engage in hands-on projects.In essence, Kaitlynn's journey from the scenic landscapes of Southern Oregon to her current role reflects her passion for scientific inquiry, creativity, and commitment to animal welfare.
